YOUTH TRAINING CAMPS
Mogul skiing to join the FreeStyle camps, coached by Lauri Lassila!
For students in lower secondary education 7th – 9th grade students interested in Alpine skiing, Freeride and Freestyle are welcome to join our specialized Youth Training camps. These camps offer professional training and versatile support services, and they are run by Levi Snow Sport Academy in cooperation with Lapin Urheiluakatemia.
With the help of camps and the support of coaches, it is possible to take sport hobby to a new level or to build a pathway to becoming an athlete and, of course, find new skiing friends. New FreeStyle camp, which has been launched in autumn 2023 offers coaching for both skiers and snowboarders. In year 2024 the FreeStyle coaching will also include a new sport, mogul skiing, coached by Lauri Lassila.
There are four FreeRide and FreeStyle camps in season 2023-2024, two in Rovaniemi and two in Levi. Sami Suhonen is in charge of FreeRide coaching and Levi Ski Club’s head coach Jukka Jarva for FreeStyle coaching. The FreeStyle group also includes other coaches, including Juho Kilkki.
Alpine skiers to Fearless Finns camp
Alpine skiing moves to the national Fearless Finns – Youth training camps, which will be organised in cooperation with the sports federation, and Ruka and Tahko alpine schools. Kaisa Puttonen is responsible for coaching the Levi Snow Sports Academy camps.
The coaching is aimed at improving the physical, mental, sporting and athlete’s everyday management skills in an individualised way. Athletes are helped towards their own goals and provide support for their development year-round. At the same time, personalised answers to questions are found, why do I train and how do I train?
Youth training camps also serve as a stepping stone to further studies in Levi Snow Sport Academy.
